You never had more fun in your life, and I don’t care what you’re doing, everything is just so much fun with Fae. You can almost forget how talented she is, and brilliant, and how you secretly envy and hate her for it. She is generous though, and will give good advice and praise with an open and honest heart, benevolent and secure in her many and varied talents.

Fae received her BA and MFA from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, in 1967 and 1990. She has taught art in California and Utah, including ceramics at Southern Utah State College in Utah, and more recently at BYU.

Her work has been exhibited nationally.

She acknowledges the significance of storytelling in our lives and thinks of her paintings as ‘little stories’.

"I use storytelling as the hook on which I hang my art," explains Ellsworth.  "It is how I connect with the world in a way that is deeply personal, and at the same time,  universal."

Her art show guest books have contained comments such as "fanciful, yet provocative, intelligent and witty, exciting, fun to read, quirky, and  a Utah Art Festival comment, "Mother of color, tell us more stories."

With titles such as "A Chance Encounter on the Beach," where two blindfolded people stand amid a starfish strewn shoreline,   Ellsworth's mixed media works also show that a quick glance tells only a fraction of the story.

One senses that the work was done in a sort of ceremony, the kind Joseph Campbell describes as ‘between fun and earnest' and in which the artist has attempted to make lives and the subconscious visual.
