Annie threw a great party June 14th. The food was terrific, and so was the conversation! The kids had a blast. The badminton was even fun, although some of us disgraced ourselves by not hitting that stupid plastic cone thingie even once. Then we had a temper tantrum, further disgracing ourselves. Maybe Annie will forget this deplorable behavior and invite us back some time? I can only hope.

Annie, great party. Thank you!

Kristen Green being cute May 30th 2003

Oh what a wonderful reunion it was! For me personally, the most wonderful reunion I could ever have imagined!

Let’s all remember to thank Karen Green thoroughly—she did a terrific job, as always, and deserves praise and admiration. Also, let’s profusely thank Grandpa, who provided it all.

Friday Night May 30:

—We met at the hotel in Saint George and admired the quantities of pools available.

—Most of the family met at the JC Snow park at 5:00 p.m. I don’t know what they ate or did, because we weren’t there, we were eating pizza and gossiping in our rooms.

—Acquaintances were made and friendships reformed. Jam sessions were spontaneously formed. Fascinating disclosures were made. Broadbents who were absent from the reunion received extra attention in the form of wild speculation and gossip.

Saturday May 31:

—Hiking in the desert. Sunburns for all of them, but not for me—I swam.

—Temple Trip for some. Pool party with candy, for those who had organized their priorities better.

—Dinner at the Park, graciously cooked by Nathan Broadbent. Several of my own family decided to go see my dad, David Broadbent, whom we had been very happy to not see for almost 15 years. Those family members were Gayle, David, Julie, and Alan. I don’t know about the others, but I have never been more pleased and delighted in my entire life at what I found. That trip to the park was worth twenty years of therapy! My satisfaction and pleasure are boundless!

—Small program, hindered by the fact that Gayle had lost her Prize Drawing list, so it had to be rather impromptu, delivered by Erin Green. Karen Green had provided many superb prizes. No one had signed up for the talent show. Uncle Dan refused to perform his long awaited interpretive dance, ‘Butterfly Seeing the Tulips’, disappointing us all. Perhaps next time.

Sunday June 1:

—Some people went to the local church, some swam in the pools, some watched television and criticized the plot devices.

—Met at the local church for a fireside. I assume Grandma and Grandpa dispensed priceless pearls of wisdom to those present. I don’t know what they said, because I wasn’t there—I was swimming again. My family swam more and watched t.v. and gorged ourselves on candy and then went home, driving merrily through the desert, eating snacks and gossiping.

If you have photos you want to show please send them to me to scan in and post, because I didn’t get very many at all. Too busy swimming.

Annie and cute little boys. Yes, she is handcuffing Pace to a tree. He deserved it, and anyway, he got away.
